Meet Our Veterinary Team
Andrea
Practice Manager
- Read Bio
Brought up in Vancouver in a family of boaters, Andrea spent many summers in and around Pender Harbour. After 13 years spent on BC’s wild and remote Central Coast, she moved with her family to the much larger community of Garden Bay.
Andrea has been with Madeira Park Veterinary Hospital since the fall of 2009. Her love of animals drew her to the position, but it is the staff and wonderful clients she works with every day that has kept her here (not to mention all the neat stuff she’s been learning along the way).
When not at the hospital, Andrea enjoys being in or on the water, paddleboarding & kayaking, or in the forest, hiking with a pack of dogs.
Carley
Veterinary Assistant
- Read Bio
Carley has lived in beautiful British Columbia since 2007. She moved to Pender Harbour with her family from Ontario, where her love for animals began. She grew up being around her grandparents' and great-grandparents' farms daily, and always enjoyed helping out with the animals. It was on these farms that her passion and respect for nature and animals began to grow. Moving to the Sunshine Coast has continued to strengthen her love for animals and the nature that fills this amazing area.
Carley began working here as a Veterinary Assistant in January 2019. She has been trained on-site with hands-on experience and continues to learn more every day.
After hours, she spends her time with her husband Cameron, their cat Hobbes, and their two dogs Togo and Macey. They enjoy their time together by hiking trails, exploring beaches, and spending time with their family.
Heather
Receptionist
- Read Bio
Born and raised in Edmonton, Heather has always enjoyed including various breeds of ‘fur-friends’ as part of her family. In 2003, she started volunteering with rescue organizations in Alberta, finding ‘forever homes’ for greyhounds, as they retired from fast-paced careers on race tracks across the U.S.
Heather attended the University of Alberta and worked as a registered nurse in Public Health and Pediatrics before retiring in 2022. With husband Earl (and their much-loved Whippet, ‘Luna’) Heather has relocated to beautiful Halfmoon Bay and is now thrilled to be a part of the team of professionals at Madeira Park Veterinary Hospital.
