Puppy & Kitten Services
Give Your Newest Family Member a Healthy Start
Welcoming a new puppy or kitten into your home is an exciting time! Your adorable new family member is bound to bring joy to your household and a smile to your face.
Along with the joy of becoming a new pet parent comes the responsibility of providing your tiny friend with the essential healthcare they need to achieve life-long good health.
Our Madeira Park veterinarians provide guidance, advice, and targeted veterinary care for puppies and kittens during their critical first year of life.
Your Pet’s First Appointment
We recommend that puppies attend their first veterinary appointment at around six weeks old, and kittens around eight weeks.
Examination & Diagnostics
When you bring your furry friend in for their first examination we will perform a comprehensive physical examination, develop a custom healthcare plan to meet their specific needs, and provide you with plenty of support and guidance to help you become a great pet parent!
We will look for congenital issues and signs of parasites. Kittens will also have blood work done to check for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus.
Parasite Prevention & Vaccinations
Deworming medications and the first round of puppy or kitten vaccinations will also be provided during this visit.
Follow-Up Appointments
Approximately three to four veterinary appointments will be required for puppies and kittens between the ages of six and 16 weeks. These visits allow your veterinarian to monitor your pet's health and administer vaccines on schedule.
